Announcing the Launch of the High School Girl’s Leadership Conference

GREEN BAY, WI - New Sage Strategies is proud to announce the expansion of the Women’s Leadership Conference by introducing a groundbreaking new conference, the High School Girl’s Leadership Conference. This special event, set to take place on October 3 at the Resch Expo in Green Bay, WI, aims to empower the next generation of female leaders by addressing the urgent needs of high school girls today.

Recent statistics show that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention paint a troubling picture of the emotional landscape faced by teen girls, with 57% reporting persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness in 2021. This marks a significant increase from 36% in 2011, nearly double the rate reported by their male counterparts.

Early response to the announcement of the new conference has been extremely positive by educational leaders and teachers in Northeast Wisconsin.

“I am thrilled that the Women's Leadership Conference has expanded to include the creation of the High School Girl's Leadership Conference. CESA 7 is proud to support this extraordinary event as we champion the empowerment and growth of young women in our community,” said Renee Jadin-Rice, Director of Learning Services, Cooperative Education Services Agency (CESA)7.

Vicki Updike, the visionary behind New Sage Strategies and the founder of the Women’s Leadership Conference, is committed to empowering women at every stage of their lives. With a successful career dedicated to providing women with strategies and tools needed for building confidence and advancing their careers, Updike’s passion is deeply personal. As a mother of two, she recognizes the importance of early engagement, support, and education in shaping the futures of today’s teenagers. Her approach is rooted in the belief that teaching young women to be self-confident and discover their own path is crucial for overcoming this crisis.

“The challenges that professional women encounter begin in our teenage years,” Updike states. “Ongoing research highlights the critical issues of belonging and self-esteem negatively affecting our teenage girls. Our responsibility as leaders is to guide the next generation towards becoming healthy, empowered adults.”

The High School Girl’s Leadership Conference is a half-day event from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. tailored for girls ages 14-18. The program will feature engaging sessions, workshops, and impactful keynote presentations from experienced leaders and educators. The complete conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
