Takeaways from the 2022 WLC

That’s a wrap on the 4th Women’s Leadership Conference. Great connections were made, leadership lessons were learned, and attendees walked away feeling refreshed.

The keynote speakers, Denise Thomas and Ali Starr delivered practical advice and tools that blew us away. The energy that attendees had after these two sessions was radiating.

The breakout speakers: Ariel Naftali, Stephanie Hendrick, Coreen Dicus-Johnson, Colleen Hauk, Gina Glover, Christi Krautbauer, Dr. Robin Buckley, and Mai Krenzke also brought so much knowledge in just a short amount of time.

How funny is Mary Schmidt with the “I Love It!” segment? It is always fun bringing you some of our attendees' favorite things at the end of the conference.

Here are some of the biggest takeaways that we have heard from attendees of the 2022 Women’s Leadership Conference:

1. Sleep. Eat. Move.

When you are experiencing burnout, these three things will help you to recover. Keeping work-life balance is difficult when you are going through burnout. Don’t assume others know what you are going through and communicate clearly about what you are experiencing (likely others will feel the same way too).

2. Advocate > Ally

Being an ally is great but being an advocate for someone is powerful! An advocate is someone who speaks up for you. There will be times when someone says something inappropriate and it is important to proactively support people in these situations. Don’t just be an onlooker, be an active bystander.

3. Know Your WHY

Get really clear on your values and your “why.” This will not only help motivate you but it will inspire you to accomplish more. Being an authentic leader means defining what is important to you and doing your best to live that each day. It also helps you to create and bolster meaningful relationships. When you get past the “standard” questions, you will be able to build authentic connections and share your “why” with people you meet.

One of the biggest benefits of the Women’s Leadership Conference is the great connections that you gain.
